This handforged Katana style sword handles like a dream. Nimble enough for one handed swings but perfectly balenced for two handed cutting power. I forge this sword in W2 Tool Steel and heat treat it with a clay hamon for superior toughness, durability, and beauty. The blade is heat treated to 60HRC at the edge.
This blade features semi traditional construction but with a handle in my style. The habaki and guard are high carbon steel and the handle is Wenge wood. It is 42" overal with a 30" blade. The blade is 1/4" thich at the habaki and distal tapers to 1/8" at the tip. The blade is 1 3/8" wide at the habaki. It weighs 2.1 pounds and the balence point is 5" in front of the habaki.
